Map utilities

ABattleMap

Download setup79f.exe. Also, the default map that is installed for AAR has some incorrect territory names; to fix this, download SektorInfo.sek and put it in ABattleMap's "AAR.gim" folder.

Even though it's ugly, many people prefer it because it tracks IPCs and total unit values for each power.

MapView

Download Mapview from its homepage at http://www.motcreations.com/mv_download.html.

To play AAR in Mapview, you need to download AAR.zip. Extract the contents into MapView's "usermods" folder. Hint: MapView installs in C:\Program Files\MotCreations. Once you've done that, fire up MapView, select "New Game" and choose Axis & Allies: Revised.

One nice feature of MapView is the ability to save each turn as a separate "page" within one file, so you can always review the history of your game.

TripleA

TripleA is the most advanced utility out there, but you must have Java 1.5 installed for it to run. It also runs on Windows and Linux both. Get it from http://triplea.sourceforge.net. It also has built-in Play-by-Email functionality.

TripleA is really nice to play with because it tracks all the money, production and legal moves.
