Dice Roller instructions

  • The Roll field shows what you just rolled. You can modify this to roll a different combination.
  • Each button will roll a certain die or set of dice: d4 will roll a four-sided die, and 3d6 will roll three six-sided dice.
  • The number before a * indicates that the roll should be repeated that number of times. 6*3d8 will roll do six rolls of three eight-sided dice.
  • The number following an H (or h) means that only the highest H dice should be kept. 4d6h3 means that the 3 highest dice should be kept. An L can be used instead of an H to keep a certain number of the lowest dice.
  • Instead of H or L, you can use p (plus) or m (minus) to apply a bonus or penalty to each roll.
  • You can also customize the buttons, removing, adding or modifying the default buttons, or creating your own from scratch. Use a _ character to start a new row of buttons.
  • After adding your custom buttons, you can bookmark the page to reload your customized buttons rolls at any time.
  • If more than 30 dice or 30 rolls are requested, only the total will be shown.
  • Averaging: Note that rolling 10d6 will just show the total of 10 dice. 10*d6 will treat each die as a separate roll and display an average. This can be useful to find out the average result of a more complicated roll, as in 10000*4d6h3.
